They feel like Apprentice trials
Mentioned in Film Junk Podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). The animation is beautiful, that’s for sure. Still, I struggle to get excited about such short episodes.
Reeves and Arnie play enjoyable roles
You can’t be completely captivated, as you know it’s all over before you can even establish any connection with the characters. It was nice to see some big names involved. It’s all a bit too experimental and shallow for me.
The Pacman episode was okay
Also, if I had the chance to choose the source material. I think I would have chosen a completely different set of games to honor. But it was a demonstration of artistic freedom being pushed to its absolute limit.
At the very least, it made me laugh
