Lucky Number, written by Lene Lovich, Les Chappell (as Leslie Chappell), performed by Lene Lovich, licensed to Oval Music and Oval Sounds (PRS). WARNING: All Liam Neeson action fans, this is a subtle DRAMA and NOT a gangster film. Best suited for an art film audience! What’s good: Liam Neeson is still making good movies at his age. He still convincingly portrays these old gangster characters with heart. And this story is about growing old, the approaching end of life, and trying to rebuild long-lost family ties. It’s not a gripping drama, but more of a slow and subtle one, and for those interested in that genre, it might be worth a look, but don’t expect fireworks! What’s bad: I love seeing Liam Neeson in his strong old gangster roles, where they fight and shoot bad guys. But this film has very little of that, and so I was a little bored halfway through the film. NOT suitable for fans of Liam Neeson’s action gangsters. Best suited to an arthouse film audience who likes to see subtle, slow character dramas…
